Dec. 7 is a day that will live in infamy for shady, fly-by-night roofing companies in Oklahoma.
It's the day the state Construction Industries Board starts taking applications for roofer registration under a law passed after central Oklahoma went through hail and high water last spring.
Although lawmakers meant the law to take effect Nov. 1, regulators had to start building a registration system from scratch. It will be Jan. 1 before the rules and procedures are fully in place, according to the Construction Industries Board website.
